Watercolour is an interesting and challlenging medium and after many years of painting I am still exploring the many techniques an artist can use to produce the variety of effects.
I particularly enjoy the effect of transparency which I often use in water paintings. This is achieved by the use of 2 or 3 washes and to finish with wet in wet for the shadows and reflections.
I enjoy tonal paintings as you can produce almost a dream like atmosphere.
My choice of subjects, predominately water boats and florals, are based on th effects I can achieve with the medium.
I am currently an exhibiting member of the Emu Park Gallery and I also exhibit at MiArt, East Street, Rockhampton.
